Dispersion – Low Viscosity Material
Baytubes® can be dispersed in low viscosity media such as water and organic solvents by using a jet disperser. Ultrasonic treatment is also suitable. Ultra Turrax®, rotor stator or Dispermat® are not effective. Stabilizers need to be added to aqueous dispersions, in particular, to ensure that the nanotubes do not reagglomerate. It should also be noted that even at low concentrations of Baytubes® thixotropic behavior can be observed. Appropriate spacers may reduce this effect to some extend.
